Best Vacation Ever ! The Condo is outstanding! (Robin, Louisville)
Our family have been on many vacations thoughout our 40 years of marriage and this was by far the best vacation ever. We have stayed in many condos and this condo exceeded our expectations. The condo is beautiful, the view breath taking, the pictures does not capture the beauty of this condo. Bob and the management staff went over and beyond the call of duty, by meeting every need. We are already planning to go back to Costa Rico next year and are hoping we can stay in this Condo. Beautiful home. Stayed there with my family, wife and three kids 12, 10, and 7 for 6 days. My wife did not want to leave. top of the line. granite. gorgeous floors and bathrooms.. Pictures are great but reality is better. Bob the manager is a wonderful person and so valuable to the experience. He always answered email or phone calls promptly. He took me shopping our first day in his truck. He even gave me medical advice on my son's swimmer's ear! The story for us was the playa langosta lifestyle. we went in late august the "green" season. we had the place to ourselves. Wake up in very comfortable beds. taxi into town for surf lessons with Junior - who is terrific. back to the condo for lunch. eat poolside or in your private patio. swim in a gorgeous pool, then out to the beach for sand castles and boogie boarding. The beach is terrific, the kids played on the rocks tried to catch crabs. If you walk south there is a large sandy area with so many shells it is just incredible. We would see a few people, enough to feel like you were not alone but we had plenty of family space. Amazing sunsets. At night either grill poolside or have food brought in from town one of the many restaurants in Tamarindo. Then it was Movie night every night. The house came with so many DVD's we could have watched several movies a day but usually just one movie with popcorn on the 120 inch movie screen with a theatre sound system. Honestly the lifestyle here was so good I am not sure we will ever enjoy a vacation house as much as this one. If any thing came up Bob was there to help. A very safe and secure way to enjoy a truly remarkable rental. The home came with a couple of video game systems and a ton of games, my kids hardly played them because we were too busy doing other things. I took a video of the property and no one can believe how nice it is. We felt like we got a great deal! Amazing condo, great location, comfortable, safe -- even better than expected! (Sue N)
Prior to our vacation, I spent hours reviewing units to rent..comparing location, quality of unit, cost, etc. After staying in the condo, I am more than pleased with our selection! The unit is even more spacious and beautiful than the photos show. Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenage boys) loved having the 3 bedrooms and the flexibility, and safety, of being able to walk out the door to go to the pool or beach. It wasn't until we were leaving, and I was making sure we didn't forget anything, that I discovered all the great hidden resources in the unit! Recent guide books, movies, games, etc. So may items to make you feel at home. A wonderful selection of movies to view on the huge screen! The building is very secure with a 24 hour gate attendant. It is a close walk to the shops in Tamirindo, but the main road is in awful condition (either dusty when dry, or muddy in the rain and full of potholes). We never walked, but drove and were able to easily find parking (maybe more of an issue in peak season). We spent 4 nights. Our teenage boys took surf lessons, which were tougher that expected! And we enjoyed exploring nearby beaches, some of which we had totally to ourselves. We also took a boat tour into the mangroves and saw alligators and our first Howler monkeys. Overall, we felt comfortable, secure and very happy in this sparkling clean unit! We stayed for 9 nights, a family of 4 with young children. The view takes your breath away and kids spent every day in the pool conveniently located right outside the patio door, so easy to access with little hassles. Karla the concierge was particularly helpful providing assistance and a ride to the local grocery store on the first day to get the fridge and kitchen stocked for our visit. There is a small store 5mins away which kept us going for the duration with milk, bread and other essentials. The condo is in a good spot, beach direclty outside and a pleasant walk either via the beach or road into town to all the restaurants, with plenty of variety. Playstations good entertainment for some downtime for the kids and projector impressive for movies. A couple of drawbacks - no local phone connection, so need to have cell coverage although security Luis very helpful in calling us take out and advice on good restaurants. Xbox nog working at the time, not a necessity by any means but woyld have been fun. In general a great place, lots of space and the views cannot be beat. Simply amazing to lie back in the evenings on the patio and enjoy the waves crashing, very relaxing. Bob the property manager responded promptly and payment, shuttle service, concierge and some minor repairs in the unit were quickly addressed, very good service.Recommended for: Families with young children

we were 9 of us.7 adults and two kids...and we were all very comfortable as if though we were home..the manager bob ..great guy pay attention to details..we were surprise when we got there there was two extra beds for us. great lonely roads for jogging,gym close by,nice pool,modern kithcen..we plan to return next year again.Recommended for: Families with young children, Girls getaway, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

We have stayed at this spot for two years now. It is fabulous! The pictures and descriptions on this site are quite accurate. Have traveled to many areas in the world, very often staying in rental apartments/homes and this is definitely one of the best. It is high end, safe,spacious and quiet. I can think of nothing negative. What a treat to open the patio doors and step into the pool or walk about 50 yards to the beach. The beach is typical for the area- wide, clean and goes for miles. I often would go for a run and once past the immediate area, would rarely pass more that half a dozen people on the beach. Ocean is great for surfing and with a few minute's walk, you can find an area appropriate for swimming. The manager of the property is a real gem. He will organize anything, provide accurate advice and ensure your vacation is as perfect as possible. He personally took us grocery shopping after picking us up at the local airport. Above and beyond anything I have encountered before. First year we rented a car but the second year decided we really didn't need one. We walked into town for evening meals with no problem. Lots of great restaurants. Typical little tourist shops. I would recommend this place and location to anyone including friends and family. You will not be disappointed. If we can manage it, we will be back again this coming year!

Dream condo!!! (Linda, Philadelphia)
This place exceeded all our expectations. We've been going to Costa Rica for many years and this is by far the nicest place we have ever rented. The only problem is, I don't know how I will ever convince my family to go anywhere else in CR. Being right on the beach, able to come and go anytime, was priceless. I did worry that it might be loud with the shared pool right in front of us, but we practically had the place to ourselves and the guests that were there during our stay were considerate. Lastly, but importantly, the beds and bedding were of a very high standard. This is not common in CR. My daughter still talks about the projection screen/TV in the living room. We found a video rental place in Tamarindo or you could bring some movies from home.Recommended for: Families with young children, Sightseeing, Girls getaway, Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Families with teenagers

Couldn't have been better. (Sewey, Baltimore)
We stayed in in this unit for 5 days and loved every minute of it. We are 5 middle-aged "surfers" and this place couldn't have been better. This is a great unit for any occasion and any age group, including families with children. Bob took care of things when we needed him. The pictures are 100% accurate and we scored pretty good waves while we were there. It truly is on the beach and the pool is nice as well. It's a newer unit, so the finishes and quality of construction are terrific. It was very quiet, and the neighbors in this condo development are very nice. It is close to "downtown" Tamarindo, which is also very convenient. I was responsible for organizing this surf trip, and my friends said I "batted 1000%". This unit was one of the main reasons why. -
Prettier than the pictures (Nina, NYC)
My husband and I and two good friends stayed at this lovely apartment for 10 days and loved every moment of our stay. Best parts: You're directly on the beach--there's nothing between you and the ocean; you're on the first level of the condo which means you have direct access to the outdoors; the condo is beautifully furnished and maintained. Other friends stayed at a large, busy hotel in. town but this was not our idea of a relaxing vacation. We had no car but hiring a taxi was cheap and easy.We walked to some fine restaurants recommended by Bob Wilson,CalaLuna was outstanding--their homemade bread was fantastic! We took a catamaran trip where saw rare birds, crocodiles (close up)! and monkeys who visited us on board to eat bananas, went ziplining, searched for seashells,took a day-long cruise that ended with a spectacular sunset. Hey, I forgot--ALL the days ended that way! It's a great place for anyone: relax and just listen to the surf or,enjoy the many activities available. Only drawback was no phone service in the condo. But I used Skype on my computer to reach Bob and he always answered or promptly returned my call.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Tourists without a car, Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Romantic getaway, Families with teenagers

Stayed Mar 3-10, 2012 (Steve, Fredericton, Canada)
Two retired people with a twenty-two year old; we found the location to be excellent and Bob Wilson responded quickly to our every request, including two great tours. The ground level direct entrance to the pool provided a great opportunity to meet others in the condo (Horizontes del Mar) without adding any unwanted noise as the pool closes at 10:00 pm. Taxis are adequate for local transportation ($5) but the only way to efficiently get one is to walk about 150 yards to the Barcelo Langosta down the road. Car rentals will cost double the listed price after unavoidable insurance and taxes. Surfing is the local sport; consequently sea conditions do not favor swimming or skin diving in the immediate vicinity. Local restaurants are great and the best are still reasonably priced - below even average prices in Canada. We found no evidence of anti-gringo stuff. Canadians frequent the Horizontes, and locals have commented favorably upon us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, Age 55+, Romantic getaway, Families with teenagers

Why Playa Langosta:
I bought in this development because I had been surfing this spot for almost 20 years, since the early 1990's. I used to park right on the spot where the condo sits and watch the waves roll in and the unbelievable sun sets. The location is magical, and I swore if I could ever own a home there I would. The opportunity arose with the development of Horizontes Del Mar and I bought the unit. The sunsets are the same, the view is better than ever, and now I can enjoy it from the comfort of my living room, in air conditiioning
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
This is the only 3 bedroom unit on the beach level with clear ocean views. This unit is unique because you DON'T have to DRAG all of your stuff (coolers,drinks,towels,beach bags, books,etc) UP & DOWN from the upper floors to enjoy the pool or beach. All you do is walk out the back door. If you are by the pool or on the beach and need a bathroom, or something to eat or drink, there's no problem here. No stairs to deal with, no hassles. It makes it very easy to watch children too. Also, unlike the upper units you have a PRIVATE covered patio at beachside/poolside with a high speed ceiling fan and custom made super comfortable loungers right next to the pool overlooking the beach!!! Everyone else has to sit in the heat or under an umbrella fanning themselves. Ahhhh, comfort and convenience are pricelss on vacation.
